Maclean Lions Awareness Day

On Saturday March 9, Maclean Lions’ most dedicated and hard-working volunteers will be on deck at the Community Markets to let you know more about what Lions Australia does.

After more than 75 years of helping others in Australia, we know our role as a service club is becoming increasingly important.

It may be providing emergency relief during natural disasters or supporting farming communities during drought, supporting critical medical research into childhood cancers and diabetes, working on local environmental programs, or counting refundable containers at Townsend – the work of all our members is valued, and critical.

We hope you’ll take the opportunity to join us at either at the Community Market or at Return And Earn to talk to a Lion and ask them why they decided to give some of their time and effort to help others.

With over 25,000 members, Lions Australia is Australia’s largest service organisation. But there’s much more to us than fundraising BBQs.

That’s why we are taking the opportunity to tell our story on Lions Awareness Day. We want the rest of Australia to know more about what we do and the causes we support, both in our community and nationally.

We will be selling our Easter Raffle tickets as from March 9 at the Saturday Community Market as well as the week before Easter outside BCU and on Easter Saturday before the Pipe Band march past. The draw will take place as usual after the Easter Saturday Lions raffle at the Maclean Bowls club at 1pm.
