On Wednesday, August 12, Maclean ladies played a two person Ambrose, the final round of the annual Eyecare Plus Partner Challenge. Winning on the day was the pairing of Jill Schipp and Sherree Forsythe who also claimed the NTP on the 2nd. Runner up trophy went to Pauline Ryan and Joy Studdon and Helen McFarlane and Lexie Simmons took the NTP on the 11th. Club balls were awarded to Sandra Youlten, Chris Forrester, Nancy Phillips, Monica Crittenden, Kim Moore and Shirley Passlow. The overall winner of the Challenge for the year was Chris Forrester with Nancy Phillips runner up. Our team who took part in the WGNR Three Player Teams event played at Lismore last Monday flew the Maclean Flag high and proud but without success on the day. Our congratulations to the Lismore team who reclaimed the event on their home course and thus will host this event again in 2016. Following the game on Wednesday Maclean ladies held a trading table auction with proceeds to go to the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter. As usual, a delicious array of baked goods and fresh produce was on offer and our ladies (and even a visitor in the Clubhouse at the time) were very generous in their bidding to support this very worthwhile and necessary service to our community. Today Maclean ladies are playing an 18-hole stroke for the 8th monthly medal. This is also the third and final round of the WGNR Gwlad Murray event for our veteran ladies.
