Today the Maclean ladies are playing a Texas 4 Ball for trophies donated by Gai Greenwood and Janet Lewis. This game will be from a shotgun start so that all the field is in nice and early and ready for the Ladies Annual General Meeting when the new committee will be appointed and ideas gathered for next year’s events. Last Wednesday, October 21, the ladies game was an 18 hole stroke for the final monthly medal of the year. This was sponsored by Libby Lloyd and Barbara Ellis on behalf of the Kibble family. The winner of the medal with the best nett score in Division 1 was Helen Graney. Tina Hogg was runner up and Sherree Forsythe had the best gross score and took the NTP on the 17th. In Division 2, Nancy Commerford won the medal with the best nett score and also had the best gross scored. Margaret Hirst was nett runner up and Sandra Youlten was NTP on the 2nd. The O’all NTP on the 7th (sponsored by Playmore Golf at Yamba) went to Val George and on the 11th (sponsored by Sue and John Fong Kee) went to Chris Forrester. Carol Young was the best putter on the day and Club balls were given to Val George, Cathy Ayres, Pauline Ryan, Chris Powell, Helen McFarlane, Molly Plunkett and Sherree Forsythe. Anne D’Arcy had the Best Nine in Division 2. Next week’s ladies competition event will be an 18-hole stroke for the Medal of Medals and is sponsored by Phyllis McMahon, Monica Crittenden and Mary Wiseman.
