Maclean & District Bowls
Nominations for Club Open Fours also the B and C Grade Singles have closed. The draw will be made this week.
The District Fours is set down for play this weekend at Iluka club. First round is on this Saturday morning with roll-up to commence at 8.40am. The Triples are at Brooms Head on Saturday and Sunday, February 13-14. Participating players are advised that a ‘one-off’ green fee payment of $10 per player is due first rounds only in each competition.
Nomination lists are on the board for all categories (Open, Senior & Reserve) of District Pairs and Singles. These close on February 9 for Pairs and February 19 for Singles.
Our District is also participating in the State Mixed Pairs championship competition this year. Entry sheets are on the notice board and they close March 11. Play begins at District level on July 3 at Yamba club.
As mentioned also last week, Pennant trial games are being organised. A sheet is on the board for players who are unavailable for any of those dates mentioned. The first trial is set down for Sunday afternoon February 7 against Yamba. Sides for this trial have been selected and are on the board in the window of the bowls office.
The District Pennant competition proper commences on March 5 for grades 6 & 7. And March 12 for grades 3, 4 & 5. A draw is on the notice board.
The first round of our ever popular ‘Last-Friday-of-the-Month’ single entry social Triples competition will take place this Friday and will every month, concluding in November. Again this competition is sponsored by our great supporters ‘Riverland Travel’ and the Maclean Bowling Club, for this we thank you.
