Maclean & District Bowls

There were five matches of Club Championship Mixed Handicap Singles played last week with two other matches forfeited. This leaves only the final left to be played this Sunday morning. It will be between Warren McDonald (-8) and Ross Murphy (+2). This should be a great game considering the handicaps and the amount of start ‘Wazza’ has to give Ross (+10). See results section for full details. The final round of this years ‘Traveland Travel’ and Maclean Bowling Club sponsored, ‘Last Friday of the Month’ single entry triples was played last Friday. Trevor Govey is still processing the results which should be interesting as some of the leaders fell short in the final round. Terry’s Travelling Bowlers, had their Christmas get together on Saturday morning with rain interrupting bowls a short way into the game. However, a great morning was had by all regardless of the weather. I can now announce the Club’s presentation night to do honour to our 2015 Champions will be held on Tuesday evening December 15. Bowls will commence at 5pm followed by dinner at 7.15pm then presentation of trophies The men bowler’s Christmas Ham and Turkey day is on Saturday December 12 for a 1pm start. Mum’s and dad’s club members with little ones should not forget this year’s kids Christmas party will be on in the club’s auditorium this Saturday to start at 10am. Please keep an eye on the noticeboard for other events that will be taking place over the coming Christmas period. Visitors are always welcome to our club to partake in our renowned hospitality and have a game of bowls. Social men’s Pairs on Wednesday afternoons and Triples on Fridays.
