The semi-finals of our Club Open Fours were played last Sunday which gets this Championship down to the final stage, to be played this Thursday commencing at 5pm. The game will be between Frank Mathieson’s team of Doug Howat, Peter Hurst and John Connell against Garry Montgomery’s team of John Nash, Ron Smidt and Gary Scott. There were also some matches of B & C Grade Singles played. Nominations for the Club Open Triples are still open. A list is on the board. The closing date is Friday March 4. The first round of Pennants for Grades 6 & 7 commenced last Saturday. We played Yamba in the No 6’s at home and Red Rock in the 7’s away. We defeated Yamba but were downed by Red Rock. There will be no Pennants this weekend as the District Pairs is set down for play at Grafton clubs. The State Open at South Grafton, Seniors at Grafton GDSC and Reserve at South Ex-Services Club. There is sheets on the notice board for player’s names who wish to make themselves available for selection for District sides in the forthcoming Compass Shield, Shipp Shield and Shipp Cup events to be held at Ballina RSL club March 20. Names must be in by March 1. Bowlers be aware that green fees will increase to $10 from March 1.
