Lower Clarence Charity Masked Ball cancelled

The Lower Clarence Charity Masked Ball committee sadly announce that the Lower Clarence Charity Masked Ball on Saturday 8 August has been cancelled for now. “It is with regret that the Lower Clarence Masked Ball committee has had to make the decision to cancel this year’s Masked Ball. We are very disappointed about this decision. While there was some community support for the event, unfortunately it was not enough to make the Ball a viable option for the Committee. While we have had to cancel the event for now, we are hoping to reschedule the Ball to a date in early 2016. The Committee will announce the rescheduled date in the coming weeks so keep an eye on the media and the Lower Clarence Charity Ball Facebook page for this information.” Lorraine Breust, the committee Chair said. The volunteer committee are dedicated to raising funds to assist people affected by cancer. The objective for this year’s Ball was to donate all of the profits toward two initiatives that would specifically assist people affected by cancer and who live in the Lower Clarence area. After much detailed research and feedback from members of the Lower Clarence community the committee decided to focus on all funds raised towards two local projects. The first project is the refurbishment of the family waiting room of the Palliative Care Room at Maclean District Hospital, which is used by both local cancer and other terminally ill patients. The second project will provide funding to Cancer Council NSW for their Transport to Treatment service, which enables eligible people affected by cancer in the Lower Clarence to travel to health services and specialist appointments in Grafton, Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Brisbane.
