Local South Grafton High School student receives Harding Miller Education Scholarship

South Grafton High School Year 9 student Caitlin Eggins has been awarded with a 2-year Harding Miller Education Foundation academic scholarship.
 
Over 400 public high school students applied for the scholarships and Caitlin was selected as one of the 139 winners for 2020.
 
“On hearing I had won the scholarship I felt excited. It has made me very hopeful for my future. I want to study law and science and go into a career within law enforcement as either a forensic scientist or a detective,” says Caitlin Eggins.
 
The Harding Miller Education Foundation is focused on supporting hardworking and high academic achieving young women. The scholarship program provides scholarship winners with valuable tools and support to help optimise academic success and achieve their career aspirations.
 
Scholarship recipients receive new laptops, high speed internet, face-to-face and online tutoring, subject and career guidance, mentoring and financial support to help cover the costs of uniforms, books and school expenses
 
The 2-year scholarships are awarded to students in Year 9 and at the end of year 10 the recipients are invited to reapply for another 2-years of support. The four years of scholarship support is valued at over $20,000.

Cara Varian, Executive Director at The Harding Miller Education Foundation says Caitlin was very deserving of the scholarship.

Caitlin is well deserving of the 2-year scholarship and we are sure it will help her achieve success in coming years and put her in a position to fulfil tertiary education and career aspirations after school,” says Cara Varian, Executive Director Harding Miller Education Foundation.
 
“We encourage any other local young girls who may need support to consider applying for a Harding Miller Education Foundation scholarship this year,” adds Cara Varian.
 
Since its launch in 2015 the Harding Miller Education Foundation has supported 470 scholarship recipients.
 
Applications for scholarships for 2021 will open from 15th July 2020 to 23rd September 2020.
