The traditional New Year Festivities at Brooms Head will be back in full swing this year with an action-packed programme starting at 8.30am with loads of family fun. Prizes which include vouchers, cash and gifts which were donated by Maclean businesses will be presented to the winners. Lions will raffle two barbeques during festivities and the Maclean Pipe band will be returning after an extended absence. Some of the fun events will include tug-of-war, boat races, best decorated hat and much more. A petting zoo will be there to enthral the little ones as well as a face painter, while the Scottish Town Dance Centre will operate the barbeque. Wires will be running their traditional market stalls. Gold coin donations at the gate will be welcome, with contributions going to the Environmental Lions and the Maclean Scottish Pipe Band
