LC Scottish Association still mindful of COVID restrictions for 2021 Highland Gathering

The committee of the Lower Clarence Scottish Association Incorporated, held its AGM in Maclean on Thursday October 29. Chief Peter Smith informed the meeting that the 2016 Maclean Highland Gathering was cancelled due to the Covid-19 restrictions. He thanked the committee members for their support and tireless work leading up to the cancellation and expressed his disappointment that the event had to be cancelled this year. Preliminary COVID plans were rolled out to see how the committee could hold the event in 2021. To that end, the committee could see that building an event under strict COVID regulations will create some difficult decisions in planning a new event format. The general committee meeting was closed followed by the 116th annual AGM. In opening the AGM Chief Peter Smith thanked the members for their attendance and tabled his report. Treasurer Jack Wallace presented his financial report followed by the election of office bearers which were confirmed. Chief: Peter Smith, Senior Chieftain: Roger McLean, Junior Chieftain: Ross McPherson, Secretary: Alister Smith, Treasurer: Jack Wallace.
