LC Garden Club honour Larry Griffin with ‘Life Membership’

The Lower Clarence Community Garden held their AGM on July 12 with a good attendance of 21 people.

All committee members were reinstated for the coming year. President Terry advised members that work within the garden was close to completion. This work to replace existing plots in need of attention was made possible by the procurement of a Government grant called “Smarty Grants”. This work has made for a much safer environment for members to access their plots and harvest vegetables.

President Terry put a motion forward to make Vice President Larry Griffin a Life Member. Larry has been a member of the garden since inception almost ten years ago. It was felt he was most deserving of this honour due to his long-term commitment and energy put into the garden to ensure its long jeopardy. An overwhelming acceptance of this motion was carried. Congratulations Larry.

Members enjoyed morning tea at conclusion of the meeting.

We encourage community members to visit the garden and see what we have to offer. We are always looking for new members. Large and small plots are available for rent at $30 & $50 annually.
