Kickflips And Sik Flix is back!

The Clarence Valley’s annual skate, scooter, BMX and screen competition, Kick Flips and Sik Flix, is gearing up for Youth Week 2021.

Hosted by Social Futures and supported by the Clarence Valley Council, Kick Flips and Sik Flix celebrates the best of youth and culture. Event organiser, Sonya Mears-Lynch from Social Futures, says the event was created to showcase the creativity, skill and talent of local young people.

“We will see slides, slams and slobs galore as our local skaters battle it out for great prizes!”, said Sonya.

“I’m always amazed at the level of skill and flair on display. We have such phenomenally talented young people in our region. All we need to do is provide a platform, they come along and make it an awesome show.”

This year’s event takes place in Grafton and Yamba throughout Youth Week and all young people, aged 10-25 years are encouraged to enter. If skating or scootering isn’t your thing, there’s also our Sik Flix film competition. Sik Flix is open to creative young people to tap into their cinematic genius and create a short film clip. There are two age groups: 10-16 years and 17-25 years with a $200 voucher prize for each division.

This free event for young people also includes live music, activities and a free BBQ lunch.
