More than 60 competitors took part in the skateboard and scooter competition held in the Yamba Skate Park on the first Monday of the school holidays (September 26).

There was an under-10 year, under 15-year and an Open division. Some 50 skaters competed in the Open division.

The competition was organised by the ‘Getting It Together’ youth team of the not-for-profit organisation Social Futures, in collaboration with Clarence Valley Council.

“The competition was a great day for all ages,” said Social Futures Youth and Families Manager, Melissa Gordon.

“There is an incredible skating community in Yamba, and we were very lucky to witness their amazing skills at the competition.

“A big thanks to everyone who supported the day, especially Clarence Valley Council, and Sonny and Marley who judged the event. We hope to see you all again next year.”
