Winners are grinners, even when you win the Barry Robbie Mars Bar and Porcelain Mug. So here we have last week’s overall winner Jeoffery Turner (right), accepting with some pride the humble trophy for coming in dead set last. Image: Contributed

The November 5 event was the ‘big one’, the monthly medal and medal of medals, culminating the end of season of the 2019 year. The year is closing in very quickly, and we look forward to all the end of season presentations and Christmas functions. The Stroke round was played in wonderful conditions which reflected in the better scores for the day.

Div 1 monthly medal winner was, Jack Urquhart, with a great nett 68 and Paul Mitchell was r/up.

Div 2 monthly medal winner was Jim Kentwell, recently returned from a long siesta in Far North Queensland and very happy to see green fairways again after playing on the drought affected courses up north. Jim Lowe was r/up.

Medal of medals winner was Jack Urquhart, who was very humble in his acceptance, he said nothing.

NTP’s: 1 / 10 was Jack Urquhart, 6 / 15 was again Jack Urquhart and 8 / 17 was Geoffrey Prentice.

The Roy Ellery 3rd shot on 3 / 12 was Phil Blackwell who went very close.

The Ball Rundown went to only seven players with a nett 72 or better.

The Barry Robbie Mars Bar and Porcelain Mug was back in the good hands of last week’s winner Jeoffery Turner, who was nonplussed at how one can go from such lofty heights one week to being the cellar dweller the following week. But that’s golf.

Runner up in Div 2 was Jim Lowe, hiding behind his meat voucher in embarrassment at his generous handicap. He will surely lose a few strokes soon. Image: Contributed
