Well the last Saturday of winter was a spectacular day with blue skies and just a slight breeze making it perfect weather to enjoy a game of golf and great friendship. Our tournament for the day was a Single Stableford and combined the Don cup which sixteen visiting players from Ocean Shores contested with great enthusiasm. The results for the single Stableford are as follows: Overall winner Brian Twaddell 41, r/up Geoffrey Prentice 40 on c/b, 2nd r/up Maurie Hateley 40 on c/b, 3rd r/up Allan Shambler 40. NTPs: 1/10 Peter McCurtayne; 6/15 Gordon Farrell; 8/17 Phil Moye. Ball run down to 35. We also had three lady players who all got a ball and Lyn Taylor had NTP on 6/15. The Don cup results between the Ocean Shores players was as follows: Overall winner Allan Shambler 40, he received the cup, r/up Richard Killion 37 he received the treasured dog bowl. The four worst Ocean Shores players – Graham Beattie 24, Graeme Cowan 26, Ian Howard 26 and Ken Caldwell 27 all received a ball. It was terrific to have so many visitors and everyone had a wonderful day. A big thank you to the Ocean Shores boys for sponsoring the day.
