Iluka lady golfers Presentation dinner

The Iluka ladies’ 9 and 18-hole golfers held their Presentation dinner on Monday November 22 with 40 ladies enjoying a lovely meal from the Hot Wok Restaurant.

The meal was followed by the presentation of trophies for various events held throughout the year, raffles, lucky door prizes and then the musical duo ‘Early Onset Oltimers’ entertained for the rest of the evening.

Congratulations to President Ann, Captain Faye and the merry band of helpers for their hard work organising such a successful night – it all looked calm on the surface, but we didnt see the paddling feet underneath. Also, thanks to Mark and Sue for handling the bar so efficiently when all the ladies arrived at once.

Wednesday November 24 was the Closing Day for 2021 golf for the lady golfers. A field of 30 played a 2-person Ambrose, generously sponsored by Mark Adey, under cloudy skies but the rain held off and everyone seemed to enjoy the day.

The luncheon was very welcome, and the committee ladies had made plates of delicious sandwiches followed by a large sponge cake, all served by committee ladies. Faye thanked President Ann and all the people who had helped during the year, and those who had made the closing day an enjoyable one.

Some more prizes were given out, raffles drawn, and ‘Secret Santa’ had gifts for everyone, so finished 2021 – a year to remember for many reasons.

During the summer break there will be a casual game starting between 8am – 8.30am and all ladies are welcome.

The competition next year will begin with the Maclean Hospital Charity Day on February 21 when Yamba will share the hosting duties with Iluka.

Iluka lady golfers would like to thank John and the staff of the Independent for their support during the year and we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and look forward to the New Year.
