Gulaptis welcomes 14 new cops to local police commands

More police officers will be on the beat in Clarence and Richmond Valley communities with the allocation of fourteen new police constables to the Coffs/Clarence and Richmond Local Area Commands following an attestation ceremony in Goulburn last Friday.

“I’m delighted to welcome these new recruits to our beautiful region and congratulate them on attesting from the academy after more than eight months of world-class training,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“The NSW Government are investing $583 million in 1500 extra police officers over the next four years, the biggest increase in 30 years.

“Our hard working cops are already contributing to the lowest NSW crime rates in 20 years and this boost, on top of the 16 new officers announced in July, proves we are getting our fair share.

“I am proud to welcome these men and women to our communities and wish them every success in their policing careers.

“Being sworn in as a police officer is a great honour and I commend these new recruits for making the brave decision to put the community’s safety ahead of their own.”
