Grafton Vintage Motor Vehicle Club

One of the new innovations introduced to this year’s Grafton Motorfest will be provision for market stalls, which will no doubt add to the attraction of the event. The Motorfest promoted by the Grafton Vintage Motor Vehicle Club and co-sponsored by Bennys Smash Repairs, Shannons Motor Insurance, Supercheap Auto as well as Abbey Motor Inn, is scheduled to be held on the weekend August 25-26, at the Clubs Headquarters located at Jabour Park Minden St, South Grafton. Co-ordinator to the market stalls is Helen Smith – 0417 923 867 or by Email on helensmith_325@hotmail.com. The markets will no doubt enhance the regular display of many types of motor vehicle and other interesting groups. In the 2017 Motorfest there were over 200 vehicles on display and it is anticipated that number will be exceeded this year. Due to the success of the 2017 Motorfest, the attraction will now become an annual event. Apart from the car display, markets and scheduled swap meet, there will be many other attractions which will provide plenty of interest from those attending. Live music, together with the Grafton Rock & Roll Dancers will entertain the crowds, and provide activities for families and their children. One of the more popular displays of the 2017 event, were the vintage caravanners. They are returning this year so I am sure we will see even more of these outstanding vans taking part. Entry to the Motorfest is by gold coin donation the gates will open for competitors at 6am each day and the general public at 8am. For participants wanting to place their vehicles, early provision has been made to allow these entrants access on the Friday preceding the Event. Full security will be provided on both Friday and Saturday nights which will ensure the security of all vehicles and displays involved. All enquiries relating to the Motorfest should be directed to either Lorraine Davis by email: dougie5353@hotmail.com or Wendy Gibbs on 0458 427 332 (both ladies are coordinating all aspects of the event). The Jabour Park complex is located on Minden Street South Grafton; food and refreshments are available on both days with the Clubs canteen ready to cater to all looking for something to eat or drink.
