Grafton VIEW Club ventures into 2023 with a new Committee.

Grafton VIEW Club has plenty to offer you with guest speakers & mid-month outings. At the same time disadvantaged children will be helped.

All you need to do is accept VIEW Club’s invitation to enjoy sharing a meal once a month with women of all ages & be entertained by a guest speaker. Such a simple & rewarding pleasure can help so many children to a better education. Also, the mid-month socials are occasions where friendships can be cultivated & maintained for a lifetime.

The AGM was held at the February meeting, & President Faye thanked everyone for their contribution to the club during 2022.

Ongoing reports were given by President, Secretary & Treasurer, followed by the election of office bearers for 2023. The following were elected.

President, Merrelle Trill; Vice President, Faye Stone; Secretary, Helen Smith; Assistant Secretary, Vorna Cooper; Treasurer, Helen Cashel; Assistant Treasurer, Norma Merlino; Delegate, Merrelle Trill; Program Officers, Sandra Simpson &  Jeanette Calvi; Publicity Officer, Jeanette Calvi; Lavender Lady, Shirley Chambers.

All is going well with our sponsored Learning for Life students. Each wrote delightful notes to the club at the end of 2022, which were read out during the meeting.

The next social outing for March will be a morning tea at the Clocktower on Thursday March 16 at 10am.

The March guest speaker will be Jenny Vickery, coordinator of “Warm Touch Caring for the Community.” This meeting will be held on Tuesday March 28 at the Grafton District Services Club, Mary Street at 10.30am. If you truly believe that supporting a child’s education is the best way to break the cycle of disadvantage, then why not come along to make new friends & renew old ones.

Please phone Vorna at 6642 4719 no later than the Friday before the meeting for catering purposes. See you there!
