Grafton Shoppingworld Senior Sportsperson of the Month for May: Aimee Jeffrey

Harwood endurance rider Aimee Jeffrey is the latest Grafton Shoppingworld Senior Sportsperson of the Month.

The 20-year-old took out the Vets Choice Award for Best Managed Horse on Kozmonaut at her first participation in the prestigious Tom Quilty Cup.

The national championship of endurance riding sees riders tackle a gruelling 160km course, with the 2023 event held on June 24 at Stirling Crossing in Queensland.

The reward for Kozmonaut’s superior condition at the conclusion of the race was a fitting result for Aimee, who is currently in the final stages of studying to become a veterinary nurse at Yamba Veterinary Clinic.

Aimee joins mountain bike rider Michelle Newstead, track and field athlete Lesley White, cricketer Ben McMahon, and cyclist Laurelea Moss as Sportsperson of the Month winners who will be finalists for Sportsperson of the Year at the 2023 Clarence Valley Sports Awards at Bowlo Sport and Leisure Yamba on 10 February 2024.

Next week, we’ll announce the Junior Sportsperson of the Month for June.
