On the weekend, Grafton Rifle club hosted its annual Open Prize Meeting where 8 grades made up of 51 shooters competed in the 2-day event.

These events see competitors travel from far and wide to represent their respective clubs. This weekend we hosted club members from as far north as Townsville, as far south as Hornsby/ Manly and as far west as Goondiwindi and Spring Ridge.

The range itself looked spectacular and it put on a display true to form on both days, challenging competitors with high temperatures, a running mirage and variable winds. Conditions could only be described as tricky, resulting in nobody going home with a clean slated score card.

Congratulations must go to the Grafton Lions Club who catered for lunches on both days (the best burgers in town) and all Grafton Rifle club members and their families who have worked together in preparing and running such a successful event.
