Grafton Relay For Life for people of all ages & early bird cut-off date next Tuesday!

cvi   The next Grafton Relay For Life will be held on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March 2016 at Jabour Park in South Grafton. All participants get a Relay For Life shirt, free overnight camping and a free breakfast on Sunday at Relay included in the registration fee. Abby Wallace, Community Relations Coordinator from Cancer Council Northern Rivers welcomes anyone to join the Relay experience this year! “Relay is for everyone! Families, young and old and everyone in between,” said Abby. “If you’ve never been to a Relay For Life before and you’ve always been wondering, this year should be your year to give it a try,” she said. The funds raised helps Cancer Council NSW to empower and support local people affected by cancer, so no one needs to face a cancer diagnosis alone. Relay For Life is not a race or a challenge event, although for some it is an incredible personal challenge to make it through the 18 hours! It is an overnight experience with entertainment, fun activities and moving ceremonies – it’s really a night you won’t forget! “Teams set up camp overnight, walk as much as they can, stop and enjoy the entertainment, walk some more and enjoy the 18 hours with friends, family and the whole community,” said Abby. The event is all about raising awareness of cancer in the community and also an opportunity to raise vital funds for research, and local cancer prevention and support services. Relay For Life is only held in Grafton every two years so now is the time to get involved or you will have to wait until 2018! Teams of two or even 100 people can register at relayforlife.org.au/grafton For further details about Cancer Council NSW or the 2016 Grafton Relay For Life, please contact Abby Wallace at Cancer Council NSW on 6639 1308 or abbyw@nswcc.org.au or visit www.relayforlife.org.au.
