Grafton Probus

Probus members have begun the year with a number of social activities. Twenty members enjoyed lunch at the Glenreagh Hotel on February 4, a small group of keen readers attended our Book Club and a games afternoon at John and Brenda Commerford’s home. This month’s social activity is a five day bus trip to Tamworth and surrounding districts leaving on March 23. There are high expectations of a memorable week of fellowship and fun.

Fifty-one members and guests attended our February meeting where Debbie Respchlater from Clarence Landcare outlined the organisation’s aims and some of the local projects that are occurring at present. Other highlights of the meeting were the induction of Shirley Bourke by president Ramon Wilson, and Fay See’s interview of Diana McLean, who spoke of her lifelong association with Grafton.

Our next meeting is the AGM. Members are reminded that they must be financial if they wish to vote or stand for the committee. Nominations in writing for positions are required to be with the secretary, Dick White, prior to the meeting. We are also looking forward to a special birthday celebration of one of our members.
