Grafton golfer Helen Packwood wins Byron Vets

Wednesday June 14

44 ladies enjoyed playing an 18-hole Viva Las Vegas, 2-person event for the Marie Brien Memorial Champagne & Friendship Day, kindly sponsored by Denise Llewellyn, Cheryl Shanley & Jen Townsend.

It was lovely to see so many of our past ladies attend our afternoon tea and champagne. Thank you, ladies who provided the delicious afternoon tea. We had a visitor from Coraki Golf Club, Derelle Rose.

Hollie Fuller has been selected to represent Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) at an international tournament, the 2023 Pearl Junior Open at Pearl Country Club in Hawaii in July. The Grafton Golf Club is running a raffle to assist Hollie to achieve her levy required for the trip. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, speak to one of the lady committee members or Hollie herself. Congratulations Hollie, we are all very proud of you.

Thursday June 15

Eight ladies played at Byron Bay in their Veterans Day, sponsored by Suffolk Park Pharmacy. Helen Packwood was the overall winner on the day with 39pts. Congratulations Helen, well played. I think the rest of us thought you must have played a different course to us.

This Wednesday is round 2 of the Championships.

On Friday and the following Wednesday, rounds 3 & 4 will be seeded. The draws for each of these days will be completed after the results are finalised after rounds 2 & 3. Good luck to all players.

This Saturday is round 2 of the Weekend Championships. Their last round will be seeded.

WGNR 2 Day Annual Tournament on July 27-28 is now open. Get in quick as there could be limited nominations accepted. Nominations close 12/7.
