Grafton Floral Art Society
As the Grafton Floral Art Society’s Cancer Council morning tea is getting closer, President Lyn Hayman welcomed members to the meeting and were designated to their respective duties on May 11. Should you be wishing to come along to the morning tea, for $5 donation you will be presented with scones and slices together with tea or coffee. The Cancer Council has been very co-operative with advertising material and Hostess kits and hopefully the function will be as successful as in past years.
Unfortunately four apologies were received and accepted. Correspondence was received from the Cancer Council and the Presbyterian Women’s Association inviting members to their annual “Friendship Morning” to be held on Tuesday May 29, with guest speaker Mac Lindsay who is the principal of St. Andrews Christian School.
A small laptop computer, controlled by a junior member, Taleah Wright, was set up to view floral art entries at the recent Grafton Show. It resulted in a learning experience for all members; our thanks to Taleah.
Much discussion followed as many articles have been donated for the lucky door tickets, tombola, and raffle. Floral arrangements will be available on the trade table also home cooking, potted plants and craft items.
Often it is difficult to find suitable foliage to go with flowers, but usually nothing blends better than their own leaves.
A reminder that the next meeting will be held on May 24.
