Grafton District Services Women’s Bowls

Thursday March 17 Tonight was the last night of our 6 week twilight competition. Another great night of bowls with 60 players on the green. Winners were the Raspberries [L. Andrews, O. McDonough and E. Johnson] runner/up went to the Rockmelons [J. Robertson, L. Robertson and B. Donohoe] lucky loser was won by the Pears [G. Collingburn, M. Buckley and B. Buckley]. Resting touchers went to Sue Taylor, Val Price and Fay Cannon. The results of the 6 week competition saw the Plums [J. Morrissey, K. Morrissey and R. Want] on 37 points in first place followed by the Lemons [G. Hicks, J. Kempnich and D. Moran] on 25 points. Third place was won by the Mandarins [P. Heath, N. Oxenford and A. Bowling] on 24 points, coming in 4th place were the Watermelons [R. Hillman, J. McPhee and D. Lawson] on 22 points. Presentations were made to the winners and then everyone received a prize. President Dawn thank everyone for joining in on this fun night and thanked her committee for their help, also to Ken for his valuable assistance in helping to organise players each night. A big thank you must go to the GDSC for their sponsorship and support of this night, it is very much appreciated by our Ladies Club. This is the last week of the No 2 Pennant so we will be back to normal social bowls next Tuesday. No 4 Pennants will continue for another two weeks.
