Grafton Bridge Congress is 13 years strong

Grafton Bridge Club has held its 13th annual Congress at South Grafton Ex-servicemen’s Club late last month. The 88 participants came from clubs across northern New South Wales. President of Grafton Bridge Club, Frances Hiatt, says the Grafton Congress is especially popular with players. The excellent facilities and catering of the South Club, and the wonderful river views provide a soothing atmosphere for two days of fierce competition for a suite of prizes. Beautiful flowers by Susan Page complemented the venue. Championship winners were Gerald Dawson and Eric Baker from Glen Innes. Winners in the plate section were Nambucca Heads players Chris and Jenny McDowell. Best local Grafton players were Joan Stephenson and Jean Felton. The Congress was directed smoothly, as always, by Trevor Strickland from Brisbane .
