Grafton Branch United Hospital Auxiliary

Fun and laughter that’s what we had at the UHA FUNraiser last Sunday. Thanks to everyone who come along and supported this event, which we are happy to announce raised over $3500 which will go to purchase much needed equipment for the Grafton Hospital.

As usual our members provided a delicious homemade morning tea, as well some venturing out as models (Mary was a big hit with the crowd). Thank you all for your help, a big job of setting up and running a new event, the raffles, trading table and clothes racks were a huge success.

Big thank you goes to Misty who is an amazing MC, the models who offered their time and talent, along with the backstage helpers presented a great show. None of this could have happened without the Jaca guys help with transporting and setting up the tables and chairs and all the extra jobs you did. The School of Arts was a great venue, thank you Skye for your support.

We were happy to showcase our range clothing and goods available at our Op Shop. Keep in mind we have those beautiful vintage wedding gowns available and some lovely evening gowns and suits or jackets that would be suitable for the upcoming Jaca Ball. We really appreciate the quality of the goods donated by the community and that these items then bring joy to someone else.

Thank you to these businesses for their donations of goods

for our raffles – Kindred Folk, Southside Pharmacy, Blooms Chemist, Ramsay Chemist, Red Bull Butchery, Dan Murphy’s,

Beautiful Nails by Jo, Heka Health & Wellness and the UHA members that also donated prizes. And as the saying goes ‘winners are grinners’, there were a lot of happy faces in the hall.

Our monthly meeting was very lively on Wednesday, as we all discussed the fashion parade and exchanged the compliments and feedback from the community, which I must say was very positive. Then we went onto the planning of our Christmas morning tea, will keep you updated on that.

Our next monthly meeting will be held at GDSC on October 16 at 1.30pm, anyone wishing to join our group is most welcome to come along and have a chat.
