GDSC Women’s Bowls

Tuesday December 8 Only a small number at bowls today, looks like everyone must be getting organised for Christmas. Today we played a spider first up and the winner was Joan Morrissey, well done Joan. Lucky rink was the condition of play today and the winners on rink 4 were R. Foley and A. Williams d J. Pugh and J. Morrissey [lucky losers]. Other results N. Harrison and J. Cooper d F. Cannon and D. Lawson; H. Barnier, M. McClaer and B. Murray d J. McDonald, D. Mason and A. Bowling. Competition winners were M. McClaer [2], G. Madden and J. McDonald. Thursday Twilight December 10 What a great night it turned out to be. After a shower before play started, the sky cleared and we were able to enjoy a lovely evening of bowls and friendship. The winners tonight were the Columbines (R. Macdonald, G. Cross and I. Macdonald). Runner/up went to the Mars Bars (P. Heath, A. Bowling and N. Oxenford). Lucky losers were the Violet Crumbles (R. Hillman, T. Nixon and D. Lawson). Resting touchers were won by L. Andrews and D. Mason, well done ladies. Our 3 lucky ends tonight were 7, 13 and 16 and this saw the Columbines (R. Macdonald, G. Cross and I. Macdonald) take the lead back again this week by 1 point [22] from the Kit Kats (M. Wilkinson, D. Mason and A. Mason) on 21. Running a close third are the Snickers (B. Elder, A. Wright and A. Williams) on 20 points, so you can see it’s very close and with one round to go any team could win, you just have to hope the ends drawn next week are your lucky ends. Tonight is the last Twilight game for this year and if it happens to be raining still come along and enjoy a roast sandwich as we have prizes to award. We will be running another 6 week competition starting on February 11, so get your teams organised and come along and enjoy our Thursday Twilight games. If you are not in a team and would like to play let us know and we will organise a team for you. Tuesday December 15 was our last day for 2015 and we will resume on February 2. See you on the green.
