Eighty players took to the fairways on Sunday to support the Junior Jacaranda Queen candidates in a 4 person Ambrose event and with the weather being so good there were bound to be some low score. The best score of the day was a good 28 13/16 nett by overall winners Jim Lehn, Dave Tilley, Ross Rodd and Wal Hambly closely followed by Joe Leonard, Arthur Schubert and Noel Reeves. I am sure that the Jacaranda Committee will be happy with the monies raised on the day and I am sure everyone had a great day. There were four Waterboys that I know of from Sunday with Gavan Smith on the 2nd, Paul McFarlane on the 7th and Jamie Pitkin and Richard Sear on the 9th all joining the club. I don’t hear much about the mid week competitions but I did hear that Greg Duffy scored a hole-in-one last Wednesday on the 2nd. From what I hear the ball did not rise more than 2 meters off the ground and if it didn’t hit the pin and drop straight down and in, Greg would have been playing his 2nd shot from the 3rd tee, but then again it doesn’t matter how it happens as long as it happens. Just a reminder that Daylight Savings starts next Sunday the 4th of October, so don’t forget to move your clocks forward 1 hour. Next Sunday is a Stroke event for the Steve and Allan Carnley sponsored Monthly Medal. Starters will be R Miller and C Doggett with K Ellem and C Husking to handle the results. Sunday October 11th is a Single Stableford event for the Norm Henwood Memorial Day sponsored by the Henwood families. Starters will be G Jackson and J Leonard with P Curd and D Clark to handle the results. Dave Lynch
