GDSC Anniversary Swim this Sunday

A holiday in WA, work commitments, a cracked rib and a forth coming operation really took its toll on the ladies group this week but thank goodness Natalie Durrington and the return of past member Debbie Smith at least gave the women some representation.

Numbers for the Club’s Anniversary swim on June 26 are slowly coming in but a warning to those who still haven’t indicated their interest – don’t leave it too long because catering numbers are required by June 23, 2022.

David Moon, Damien O’Mahony, John Wainwright and Doug Ensbey qualified for the 25m B B & B final.

Handicaps ranged from two to twenty-three in this event, but Doug and John were just too keen and busted their times by over a second.

David was given the win with a perfect time of 13 seconds off a nominated time of 14 and Damien was placed second, swimming 19.09 off a nominated 20.

Natalie Durrington, Richard Sear, Terry Marsh and Tony Suel lined up for the final of the 50m with Tony on a handicap of two and Natalie off seventeen.

Nat unfortunately was two seconds too quick and Marshy was one second too fast, leaving the win to be taken by Richards with Tony taking second place.

The 25m freestyle event saw David Moon, Damien O’Mahony, John Wainwright and Terry Marsh lining up at the blocks.

What a disappointment for all concerned when the times were checked, and everyone received a disqualification.

This can be very disappointing when the break is only .18 or less.
