Fine woodwork on display
The Northern Rivers Woodworkers Association annual Jacaranda Exhibition is shaping up to be another great event this year.
With a long history of fine wood-craft on display each year this exhibition has developed to become a very popular event and an attraction to both the general public and woodies alike.
With the keen interest of established members to develop and improve even more on past performances and the addition of new members with their fresh ideas and skills to the craft the exhibition this year is sure to have something of interest to everybody.
The expanded display of competition items in the High School Student section and the novice sections will also add to the variety of workmanship on display.
Some of the woodwork on display will feature skills in wood-turning, wood carving, cabinet and furniture making, intarsia, bandsaw boxes, musical instruments and toy making.
The exhibition will be open each day from Saturday October 31 to Sunday November 8. Opening hours are from 9am until 5pm each day with the exhibition closing on Sunday 8 at 1pm.
The record number of items made from quality local and exotic timbers is guaranteed to make this the biggest and best event ever with such a large range and amount of items for viewing and purchasing by the public.
Members will be conducting demonstrations in the art of fine woodwork and club members will be on hand to answer enquiries about this craft and membership of the club.
During the exhibition the club will be conducting a raffle with ten prizes to be won. The proceeds from this raffle will further boost the donations of this club to the Westpac Helicopter Service and the Grafton Hospital Maternity unit.
The Woodworkers Association would like to thank the sponsors of this event and value their support in making this event one of the highlights of the Jacaranda Festival.
The venue for this years exhibition is again the South Grafton Ex-Servicemen’s Club and members of the Woodworkers Association are appreciative of the excellent amenities available to both the participating members and the viewing public.
