Feast on mini fest

The Yamba Bowlo goes festive this Saturday night September 16 when headliners the Mason Rack Band hit the stage. But wait, there’s more: three handpicked supports – Adam Hole Band, Stingin Rogers and Salt & Steel – complete the rockin’ line-up. Rack and his band have been “dragging blues kicking and screaming into the 21st Century” for quite a while now, having racked up 12 international tours and played 2,500-plus shows – the favourites being at festivals in Germany, Netherlands, Italy and Canada. Rack’s raspy vocal, described by fans as “one of the sexiest voices in the blues music scene, with flashes from Tom Waits and Led Zeppelin”, is matched by his guitar playing. And, as far as performances on stage are concerned, the group is renowned for drumming duels, onstage antics and “signature movements that set them apart from everything and everyone else”.
