Events Scholarships Go To Worthy North Coast Recipients

The NSW Government will fund 12 Diploma of Event Management scholarships to help upskill and create more job opportunities for those living in regional communities across the state.

Cameron Arnold, Chair of Destination North Coast says he is delighted with the recent announcement from the Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres, on the selection of such worthy North Coast Diploma of Event Management scholarships recipients.

This initiative which is part of the NSW Government’s $6 million Regional Conferencing Strategy and Action Plan, which includes a partnership with Meetings & Events Australia (MEA), will help upskill
and create more job opportunities for those living in regional communities.

The North Coast recipients were selected by a panel and are already actively employed and contributing in our region in the event space.

Lena Mager, currently Events Officer at Southern Cross University, previously helped raise the profile of Casino Beef Week as Event Coordinator and also supported Richmond Valley Council’s tourism industry stakeholders as Destination Officer. She is your consummate all-rounder who is already held in high regard within the tourism and event industry and her studies will no doubt cement this position.

Jumana Schriefer is looking forward to furthering her education in Event Management and applying new knowledge and learnings in her role as Venue and Events Manager at Northern Rivers Performing Arts (NORPA). As a self-confessed ‘knowledge junkie’, we know she’ll thrive on the challenges ahead in combining study with work.

Destination North Coast offers hearty congratulations to both recipients and look forward to supporting their journey towards achieving their Diploma in Event Management.
