In the LCCA 1st grade weekend cricket match between Yamba & Iluka at Yamba Cricket Ground there where 10 ducks registered in both innings of the 40 over fixture.
Iluka batted first to be all out for 65 in the 27th over with Alex Robinson scoring a well compiled 21. Best of Yamba bowlers were left armers Matt Heaton with 2 for 6 and the ever improving Noah Green with 3 wickets for 5 runs form 7 overs with 2 maidens.
In reply Yamba were 5/50 with plenty of overs in hand at drinks, only to lose their last 5 wickets for 0 runs and capitulated to be all out for 52, 13 runs short of the required target of 65.
The only batsman to stand up and be counted was Noah Green with 26 together with 7 Yamba batsman registering ducks.
Bowling honours went to Iluka’s Dean Bartlett who impressed with the fine figures of 6 for 11 runs from 7 overs.
Next weekend will see Yamba play the strong Maclean United side back in Yamba, and this will be followed by a Yamba Cricket Club Reunion for all current and past players (formerly Palmers Island CC) to be held at Yamba Golf Club beginning at 5.30pm.
Tickets are available for the night at Yamba Golf Club front office for $20 per head and all ex/current players/coaches/managers/supporters/wives/partners are encouraged to attend.
A few items of cricket memorabilia will be auctioned/raffled on the night.
