Douglas picked for Wallabies

Capture   Former Yamba Buccaneers player Kane Douglas has been selected in Australia’s 31-man world cup squad. Douglas’s selection is seen as controversial in some quarters: firstly, because he was selected without having played in Australia over the past year and, secondly, because he was reportedly included ahead of former captain James Horwill. Douglas played a season in the Irish Guinness Pro 12 completion for Leinster. Wallabies coach Michael Cheika coached Douglas when he played in the NSW Waratahs’ Super 14 championship side. Douglas recently signed with the Queensland Reds, after being released from his Leinster contract for personal reasons. The 26-year-old lock forward has previously played 15 tests for Australia.
