CV Ramblers

Clarence Valley Ramblers motorhomers enjoyed their weekend at Lilydale with 21 vehicles set up along the riverbank. The marquee was erected, the kettles were boiled and the chatter and laughter began. The weather was fabulous, although a few degrees less would have been appreciated. A dozen or more went swimming while Brett threw in a line. Seven visitors including some old faces discussed world events and solved many issues, while we also welcomed Lorraine Asbury to the mob. The weekend was a relaxed version of the usual gatherings. The board ladies set up their table in the shade and enjoyed a few hotly contested games of sequence etc. The ground was too uneven for disc bowls and Finska, so discussions on mechanics, places to explore and places we have enjoyed all took place. As there is no TV coverage, only those with satellite dishes could watch the footy. Sunday breakfast we all enjoyed pancakes with champers and OJ to celebrate a late Easter. The men cooked, while Gail had jobs lined up from adding the toppings to shaking the pancake mix. No rest for the wicked. Our next outing is Glenreagh. The local markets will be on Saturday and we will be celebrating Mother’s Day a day early, with lunch at the Golden Dog. Bookings to me prior to April 30th please. Margaret and myself also enjoyed our first information stall at the Seniors Expo at Yamba Bowling Club the following Monday. We created lots of interest, gained a new member (another Lynne) with several more looking at joining our group or the CMCA. Carol Randall
