Coutts Crossing swamped

Last week was another week of frustration for the addicts at Coutts Crossing Croquet Club. Our best went down to Woolgoolga to play a Pennants match. Up with the sparrows and away. But that was the night 300mm of rain fell at Corindi, and a little less at nearby Woolgoolga. The refreshments were the highlight, not a shot was made.

Back home it was puddles, puddles, puddles, every day. By the time La Nina has calmed down, we may all be vaccinated, and confident in our successes, we will march onto the new lawns, coo with delight at the verdant grass, and play our best shots. Till then raindrops keep falling on our heads…..

Some members have lost patience with the rain gods and wandered north into Queensland or south west to Orange to get a game. Peter and Gillian Martin are aiming at the Darling Downs GC and AC championships: more fun than watching the rain.
