Companions of Caroona Auxiliary

What a wonderful day was had on Monday, March 14, when Auxiliary member, Carol Randall, took 35 people (including drivers) on a wonderful and interesting mystery tour. We travelled South with hints as to where we were heading but only one on our bus was close to guessing. Someone on other bus was smarter and guessed. Lots of laughs and chatter all the way to our first stop at Carobana chocolate factory at Korora where we could sample and purchase the goodies. After talks and demonstrations, we enjoyed a wonderful morning tea supplied by some of the Auxiliary members. Next stop was The Bunker Cartoon Gallery in Coffs Harbour. What a great place to visit with so much history of World War ll, which is not common knowledge to a lot of outsiders. As International Womens Day was being celebrated, all of the cartoons were done by women. What a wonderful display this was and art work is changed regularly. Lunch at the Hoey Moey Hotel. The Clog Barn and Miniature Village was then visited, with a walk through the village then a demonstration of clog making was enjoyed. The coffee and ice cream shop next door was also very popular. Our thanks must go to Carol for the organising of such a wonderful day and hope we will have more in the future. Also, my thanks to Hans and Ian for safe driving and the ladies for the morning tea and cakes for sale. This trip was in lieu of our monthly meeting. Meetings are normally held 2nd Monday of month at Caroona, commencing 2pm. New members welcome at a cost of $5 per membership. For further information phone 6646 1124. Joy Lauder
