Community grants for infrastructure projects for the Clarence and Richmond Valleys

Nineteen community projects across the Clarence and Richmond Valleys have been awarded a total of $300,000 from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnerships program, Clarence MP Chris Gulaptis has announced. The program funds small infrastructure projects for local not-for-profit groups and local councils. “We know this program delivers great value for the taxpayer because these volunteer groups spend every precious dollar wisely and donate their own time,” Mr Gulaptis said. “These projects not only strengthen community assets and deliver positive social and recreational outcomes, but stimulate the local economy and help secure local small business jobs.” Projects to receive funding in the Clarence electorate include: Casino Town Tennis Club Inc – BBQ and spectator undercover seating ($35,000); Coutts Crossing Cougars Football Club – Construction of new change rooms/referee rooms/storage & disabled toilet ($28,000); Life Education NSW Limited – Wheelchair lift for children in the Clarence Valley ($9,963); Casino Neighbourhood Centre Inc – Casino Community Garden ($7,867); Grafton Aero Club Inc – Upgrade clubhouse kitchen ($21,144); Northern Rivers Waterski Inc – Manufacture & installation of competition grade water ski slalom course ($8,860); Baryulgil Fine Flower Campdraft Inc – Provision of arena Fencing ($15,798); Yamba Preschool Kindergarten Association Inc – Removal and replacement of damaged rubber softfall around outdoor playground ($20,000); Clarence Valley Council – Multi-purpose tennis practise wall at Wooloweyah (adjoining Honeyman Park skating area) ($2,920); Anglicare North Coast – Repair roof, guttering, install awning at Anglicare’s Grafton service ($18,304); Woodburn-Evans Head Golf Club – Completion of irrigation infrastructure – Stage One ($34,000); Rotary Club of Maclean Inc – Extension to store room at existing shed at Brooms Head to store surf lifesaving equipment ($20,000) New Italy Museum Inc – Upgrade to New Italy Museum including ceiling, walls, display areas and floor ($22,292); Grafton Vintage Motor Vehicle Club Inc – Upgrading of existing kitchen/canteen ($7,000); Clarence Community Transport Inc – Solar power system upgrade ($20,130); Copmanhurst Campdraft Club Inc – Holding yards & arena fencing upgrade ($5,000); Casino Community Men’s Shed Inc – Provision of solar power ($12,000); Scout Association of Australia NSW Branch – Maintenance and safety upgrades at Maclean Scout Hall ($5,500); Glenreagh Mountain Railway Inc – GMR Cottage upgrade/additions ($13,500).
