Clarence River Arts Festival

Creative needlework is an area of the Clarence River Arts Festival that has really grown over the years. Many visitors are in awe at the perfection achieved by the artists. Embroidery comes in many shapes and forms and this is one place where many different forms can be seen all in one room. Our accredited judge from Brisbane has told us that embroidery presented in this exhibition are equally as good if not better than many of the big shows she judges up the coast. Definitely a comment that spurs us on. There are eight different categories in creative needlework, so plenty for all to see. This year for something special, we are inviting entrants to enter into our section called “Seasons”. This is your interpretation of any one of the seasons or more if you wish. This is to be completed in a six inch embroidery hoop with the screw at the top of the work for hanging hoop. This will be a Viewer’s Choice to determine the winner. Entry forms are available at Ferry Park Gallery or download form from our web site. I (Pam) am thankful to welcome Sandra Miller on board to help me this year. Tutor Susan Porter will provide a workshop which will be ongoing during the exhibition. Come join us, we look forward to seeing everyone. Pam Le Couteur and Sandra Miller
