“If it’s good enough for Christmas, perhaps we should be lighting up Yamba all year ’round,” says Yamba Chamber of Commerce executive member, Graham Lees, the brainchild of the chamber’s Light up Yamba initiative.
Mr Lees pitched the idea at a recent meeting … and soon there will be 10 locations around the Yamba CBD lit up by laser LED lights. “People who are holidaying here at times other than Christmas will be able to enjoy the lights, too,” he said.
Mr Lees, pictured with the chamber’s secretary, Bev Mansfield, said that people had responded enthusiastically to a trial of the lights adjacent to the NRMA in Coldstream Street. Image: Amanda Allan.
