Chris Holst takes Yamba Thursday A Grade

With the weather starting to cool only 133 players teed it up at Yamba on Thursday to contest the mid week Stableford competition, again like last week there was only one player who broke to forty point barrier. A Grade winner Chris Holst took the win with the score of the day 41pts from Ron Jeffrey was 2nd with 36pts and 3rd went to John Daley with 34 on a count back. A Reserve grade saw Nick Anderson collect the prize with 39pts from Ken Hall 38pts and 3rd went to Russell Cain 37pts. Kevin Molloy won B Grade with 36pts from Phillip Dixon 34pts and3rd went to Andrew Bennett with a low scoring 33 points. Peter Sweetman took out the C Grade prize with 37pts on a count back from John Lloyd 37 and 3rd was Brian Campbell with 36pts on a count back. NTP’s: On the SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd Bruce Lulham 172cm, on the Peter Campbell Physio 9th Alex Podbereski 320cm, on the SeaFire 10th Craig Erskine 130cm, on the Yamba Barber Shop 12th Rich Beresford 138cm and on the SeaFire 17th Stephen Mather from Glenn Innis was 324cm. Balls for the day went to 32 with 19 on the back. Saturday Monthly Medal Only 105 players contest the June medal round with the shots of the day going to one of our star pennant players Greg Little who eagled the 4th, is it any wonder Greg won his match 5 and 4 in Sundays final. In A Grade Dan Mullins made a triumphant return to the podium with a great round of 68 nett giving him the medal, 2nd went to Col Lindsay with 71 nett, Steve Hodgson was 3rd with 73 nett. Col also took the Gross with 77 hits. The A Reserve medal went to Russell Cain who had the score of the day with 66 nett from Geoff Willis who must have thought he was home with 68 nett and 3rd went to Michael Shirlow with 70 nett. Russell also took out the gross with 83 hits. Gabba Bodycote, another star Pennant player took out the B grade medal with 69 nett from Peter Stoward form Deloraine Golf Club on a count back from Darrell Horsey 70 nett. Peter Stoward also won the Gross with 90 hits. C Grade saw Terry Bull win the medal with 68 nett form Peter Sweetman 2nd 70 nett and 3rd was Don Schlussler was 3rd with 73 nett on a count back. Peter also won the gross with 99 hits. NTP’s: On the John Wright Pro Shop 3rd Dave Bruton with 287cm, on the Peter Campbell Physio 9th Michael Shirlow was 232cm, on the SeaFire 10th Dave McGregor at 420cm, on the SeaFire 12th Number one pennant captain Mackenzie Wright 167cm on the Bean Scene 17th Terry Bull picked up the NTP and the 2nd Shot NTP with 738 and 184cm. Balls for the day went to 77nett with 37.5 nett on the back 9. Pennant Results We had two teams contest the NRDGA Pennant final on Sunday with our No. 1 team defeating Coolangatta Tweed at Ballina 5 to 2 and our No. 4 team narrowly missing out at Ocean Shore against Coolangatta Tweed 4 and 3 both in horrendous conditions.
