Last Wednesday saw the completion of the 2016 Championships and our champion is Sheree Forsythe with a convincing seven shot win with Kim Wiblen being the runner-up. Our Div 2 champion is Tina Hogg also with a convincing win with the runner-up being Molly Plunkett. Div 3 champion is Marlene Roberts with another solid win with Bev Ensbey coming runner-up. Our 54 hole Nett champion is Sue Fong Kee. We want to congratulate all these girls on their great golf. Sheree has played great golf this year and is a very deserving champion. Tina has also been playing well in 2016 and has had some great wins and Marlene has certainly played well at the right time. Sue Fong-Kee is another player who has played consistently well this year and had a great three rounds to claim the Nett championship. Mention must also be made of Molly who came runner-up in Div 2 despite the fact that she has only been back for three weeks after breaking her ankle so well done Molly. In conjunction with the final round we played an 18 hole Stroke competition which was sponsored by Libby and Barbara (the Kibble family). These ladies have been great supporters of our club for many years and we thank them for their generous sponsorship. Div 1 winner with a great 70 Nett was Sue Fong-Kee. Runner-up was Molly Plunkett and Div 2 winner was Val George. R/up was Marlene Roberts. Putting was won by Kim Wiblen with an amazing 26 putts… great effort Kim. Commerford. Maclean ladies are very excited to have on board a new sponsor Mareeba Aged Care. Next week we will play the first round of the Mareeba Challenge which will be a 4BBB Stableford Aggregate game with the second round being played on September, 21.
