Changed traffic conditions on the Tugun Bypass (Pacific Motorway) at Tweed Heads

Motorists entering Queensland from New South Wales are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Tugun Bypass (Pacific Motorway), Gold Coast Highway and surrounding local roads at Tweed Heads as a result of COVID-19-related border restrictions introduced by the Queensland Government.

From 1am on Friday 23 July, motorists entering Queensland from New South Wales will be asked to show permits allowing them to cross the border.

These changes are likely to cause significant delays for northbound motorists and all road users are urged allow extra travel time while crossing the border.

Motorists travelling from Queensland into New South Wales will not be impacted.

Traffic control and speed reductions will be in place as required to ensure safety of motorists and road crews.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, plan ahead, remain patient and follow the direction of traffic control and all signs.

Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
