Changed traffic conditions on the Pacific Highway at Cowper

Motorists are advised of changes to traffic conditions on the four-lane divided section of the Pacific Highway at Cowper for essential concrete repair work. From last Tuesday (10 May), Roads and Maritimes Services will be replacing sections of the existing concrete road slabs and repairing joints and cracks in the road pavement. Work will be carried out in two stages on Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm or 7pm to 6am for seven weeks, weather permitting. During stage one the northbound lanes of the highway will be closed at Cowper all northbound traffic will be moved to the southbound overtaking lane. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on the southbound carriageway for three weeks. During stage two the southbound lanes will be closed and traffic will be moved to the northbound lanes. While access to Grafton and Telegraph streets from the highway will be maintained, the dedicated turning lanes for north and southbound traffic at this intersection will be closed. Motorists are asked to follow the direction of traffic controllers, keep to the reduced speed limits and follow traffic signs and lights when displayed.
