Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from this week on the Gwydir Highway at Jackadgery to carry out maintenance and safety improvement work on the Mann River Bridge.

One traffic lane will be closed, with alternating flow arrangements in place, to carry out guardrail and bridge barrier improvements, bearing maintenance, drainage work and erosion control to ensure the bridge remains in good condition for motorists.

Work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and is expected to be complete in four weeks, weather permitting.  

Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during work hours for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
