Celtic Illusion Reimagined – Grafton show Saraton Theatre – 11th Feb

World acclaimed Australian production celebrates 10 year anniversary with special show celebrating the beauty of dance and the excitement of magic.

The acclaimed Australian production that fuses modern Irish dance and bewitching magic illusion, CELTIC ILLUSION celebrates its 10thanniversary with a new show and a mammoth national tour that kicks off at the end of January 2022.  Full dates and ticket details below.

Celtic Illusion stars the multi-talented former lead dancer of Michael Flatley’s Lord Of The Dance and star illusionist Anthony Street, with Georgia May, a marvel in both dance and illusion. These impeccable performers lead a cast of champion dancers recruited from renowned productions across the world, including Riverdance and Lord Of The Dance.

The international success of Celtic Illusion over the last ten years and its first-class production are all part of Street’s drive to deliver an outstanding entertainment show worthy of Las Vegas, The West End and Broadway.

Audiences will witness some of the fastest tap dancing in the world combined with impossible magic, the only show of its kind in the world that combines these two artforms. The show also features an incredible soundtrack composed by a stellar team including Angela Little who co-composed Baz Luhrman’s film Australia, as well as Steve Skinner who has arranged and produced for artists such as Celine Dion, Stevie Wonder and the Broadway musical Rent.

Anthony Street was born and raised in Melbourne. He grew up surrounded by motorbikes, racing cars, hunting and football before he first fell in love with Riverdance and, with the assistance of his grandmother, he began secretly taking Irish dancing lessons. His commitment and talent eventually led him to audition for Lord Of The Dance. He was the Principal Dancer for four and a half years and the first Australian to perform the lead role in Michael Flatley’s widely acclaimed Lord of the Dance.

Celtic Illusion was created in 2011 and has gone from strength to strength. “Celtic Illusion has enjoyed huge success, regularly performing to sell-out audiences across Australia, New Zealand since the show premiered in 2011. But our biggest and most exciting achievement was signing a 5 year contract with one of Canadas biggest promoters right when covid hit the world,” said Anthony Street.

Celtic Illusion was ¾ of its way through a tour of Canada in early 2020 when covid hit and international borders were closing, causing the show to pack up immediately and postpone the rest of their Canadian tour. When covid made its way to Australia and the entertainment industry shut down, Street made use of his other skills in construction and kept working to keep the money coming in and focused on future.

“I had recently got my truck license so for the past 9 months I have been driving trucks around Victoria to pay the bills and be ready to get back into it once restrictions lifted. I was determined to do whatever I could to keep going and thinking about what we would do, not just to mark the 10th anniversary of Celtic Illusion but also to mark the return of live entertainment.  Celtic Illusion Reimagined is a celebration that we got through the pandemic and all the lockdowns and restrictions and the future is here!  We are excited to be part of that new future.”
