Car crash survivor’s condition downgraded

Emma Pritchard|

A 19-year-old Gurranang man who was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital last month in a critical condition following a devastating collision, has had his condition downgraded to serious.

On February 16, the man was driving a Holden Storm ute westbound along Pringles Way when he lost control on a bend and collided with a tree.

The accident occurred around 30km north east of Grafton.

It was a single vehicle accident, and the driver was the sole occupant of the ute.

Investigations into the collision are ongoing and Grafton Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses who saw the Holden Storm ute prior to the collision to come forward.

It is currently unknown how long the man will remain in hospital.

As the Bureau of Meteorology predicts a wet start to autumn across the Clarence Valley, Grafton Police are urging motorists to take care when driving in poor conditions and to exercise caution.
