The Maclean Bobcats Football Club brought the curtain down on season 2022 with their presentation at major sponsor the Maclean Bowling Club just a week ago and preparations for season 2023 in the FFNC Premier League has already begun.

As is their constitution, all senior coaching positions are opened up for new applications to help identify new interested coaches that will hopefully elevate the current Premier League teams for both the men and women’s squads.

The Bobcats Women’s Premier League team made a successful return to the FFNC competition last season, reaching the semi-finals, but a horror injury toll saw them shuffled out at that stage as they struggled to field a full team at that vital stage of the season.

The Men’s Premier League team had another mid table finish to the 2022 season and that has become a trend that they are proving hard to break over the last half a dozen seasons. The Men’s Premier League and Championship League teams in particular are looking for a fresh set of eyes and fresh approach to help elevate a talented playing group to the next level.

Captain Jarrod Doyle said. “We have always had great coaches and now we are looking for someone who can make the minor tweaks to get us back into the semi-finals where we belong”.

Women’s Premier League captain Bec Teni, who received Life Membership with the Bobcats at the 2022 presentation, said this of the Women’s Premier League squad, “At the moment we have a great bunch of youngsters coming through that has really rejuvenated our team. The balance between experience and youth is really positive for us moving forward and we hope to be challenging for the title in 2023 and beyond”.

All senior coaching positions have generous remuneration packages for appropriately credentialed coaches and further support is available for suitable candidates to update and upskill coaching credentials and methods.
